1990 - 1991 Gulf War: Iraq invaded Kuwait. US formed a coalition of 34 nations and liberated Kuwait.

1960 - 1994 End of Apartheid.

1991 End of the USSR: Gorbachev was imprisoned by hardline communists. President of Russia Yeltsin denounced the coup and the coup was defeated by massive popular resistance. Yeltsin united with leaders of Belarus and Ukraine and eneded the Soviet Union.

1991 - 1995 Serbia tried to hold the Yugoslavia together by military force and ethnic cleansing. A peace deal was signed after NATO intervention. Serb miilitary leaders fled into hiding afraid of charges of crimes against humanity.

1991 - 1995 UN got increasingly involved in Somalia to help with the famine. In 1993 there was the US Black Hawk down incidents. In 1995 UN had to admit defeat and pull out.

1991 - 2006 The Chechen Crisis: Chechen sought independence from Russia and their determination led to bitter war and terrorism. In 2005 Russia installed a government in Chechen.

1994 Rwanda Genocide: The majority Hutu blamed Tutsi tribes for shooting down and murder Rwanda Hutus president. An estimated of 800,000 people were killed in 100 days. With the murder of Belgian soldiers UN chose to standby. In the end Tutsi guerilla won the war and ended the civil war.

1995 - 1999 Clinton lied about his relationship with an Intern and was impeached. But he was acquitted later.

2011 Bin Laden killed

2011 Arab Spring: Protests spread across North Africa and the Middle East countries.
